Scholar Profiles

Information on scholar/author profiles and identifiers.

What is a Web of Science Researcher Profile?

You may know of Web of Science as a paid-access platform for scholarly databases, including cited reference searching. But did you know the platform also offers a scholar profile that allows you to maintain your digital scholarly presence AND connect to your Web of Science publications - including citation impact?

Web of Science Researcher Profiles enable you to log into a scholar profile (with a personal Web of Science Researcher ID), ensure identity consistency across profiles and publications, demonstrate impact, and save searches all under one account. You can sync to ORCID so that updating one automatically updates the other. You can provide access to anyone - no product subscription is required.

A few notes to remember:

If you have published research that is not included in the Web of Science Core Collection, you will need to manually add it to your researcher profile. Simply import from ORCiD, upload a file, or retrieve publication metadata using an identifier (DOI, arXiv, PubMed ID, Web of Science accession number, or title).

Web of Science currently does not support book publications nor patents in the data structure, but will add more publication types in the future.
