Models and Kits at Health Sciences Library - Phoenix

The Health Sciences Library at the Creighton University Health Sciences Campus – Phoenix maintains a collection of assessment and training kits and anatomical models for Creighton faculty, staff, and student use. To ensure that these materials remain in optimal condition, and shared equitably among all user populations, the following guidelines are necessary. By checking out and using these materials, you agree to abide by these guidelines as well as the Student Handbook policies.

► All materials will be checked out from and returned to the Library. If the librarian is present, they may check out and/or return the item for you. For instructions on using the self-checkout, please see the Meescan Self-Checkout Guide

You must present a valid Creighton ID at the time of checkout.

Certain materials are limited to use within the Phoenix Health Sciences building and may not be taken outside the building; this includes the ground floor patio and 2nd floor terrace. These restricted materials include anatomical models and modular task trainers.

You are responsible for the materials while they are in your possession. Do not leave unattended.

Materials must be returned in the condition they were checked out to you (e.g. no damage, all pieces included and put back together).

If any material is damaged or lost while in your possession, you will be responsible for the cost of repairs, not to exceed the replacement cost of that item. Replacement costs vary according to the type and model of hardware. We reserve the right to purchase an equal or similar model in case of discontinuation.

Any models and kits housed in the library may not be used in a space where there are (un)preserved specimens. They may not enter the Anatomy Lab.

Purchase Requests

The University Libraries maintains a responsive collection, meaning that we strive to curate a collection in anticipation of and in response to the needs of our community. As the Phoenix campus is still growing and changing, we are always open to purchase requests for additional models and skills trainers. Should you have a request, please send an email to the Phoenix librarian (contact information available in the left-hand profile box) with the following information:

► Requested material name, structures and/or magnification of the model you'd like to be able to see

► Links from specific items from vendors

We cannot guarantee a particular vendor, but Creighton has materials in its collection from 3B Scientific, Altay, Axis Scientific, Carolina Biological Supply, Rudiger, Somso, and more

► Indication of preferred items, for example, the top ranking out of various vendor options and/or price points.

►  Quantity (1 or 2); The Library is unable to hold classroom sets.

► Program and course names when this would most likely be utilized by learners, including how often this course is offered (e.g. every spring term, annually, etc.)
