Browse or search in our film and video collections for movies, documentaries, or language-learning clips. Some tips:

In Academic Video Online, refine your search by using the "Disciplines" dropdown menu and selecting "Lilterature & Language." Then selecting "Disciplines" will allow you to browse by Fields of Interest, e.g. "South Asian Films."

In Films on Demand, select the "View All" underneath "Subjects" in the hamburger menu. The platform has many collections and subcollections to choose and browse, from language collections under "World Languages" to World Dance or World Music to international regions under "Area Studies."

In Kanopy, you can use the "Global Studies & Languages" filter in the "Browse" menu dropdown or use the search field to search for a specific language. When searching, the lefthand navigation menu will also enable you to filter by language or caption language.

Search Collections by Subject

JaySearch Tips: Searching by Subject
If you're interested in browsing our collections, particularly for materials in or about a particular language, you can use Subjects to filter your search. In JaySearch, under Advanced Search, change the search filter from the "Title" default to "Subject." Use the "Resource Type" limiter on the lefthand side to limit to books, DVDs, or other types.

If you're looking for materials in or about another language, try searching by the language itself ("Japanese") or phrase like "German language" or "French literature" as in the examples below:
