Evidence-Based Practice

Resources to support your evidence-based practice.

Assess the Process

After you have completed the EBP process, it is important that you take some time to reflect on the whole process and identify ways you can improve for next time, continually improving your approach to patient care. Some questions to ask yourself include:

  • Did you develop an answerable PICO/clinical question?
  • Did you search for evidence in the right places and using the right search techniques?
  • Did you appraise all the literature? Are you confident in the quality of the literature you used?
  • When you implemented the evidence into clinical practice, did you also consider your own expertise and the patient's preferences and values?
