Notice to Creighton undergraduates: As students at Creighton University, you can search books, articles and much more in the law library and are able to check them out. Some legal texts are library use only, but most single volume works are available for checkout. If you are working on a political science, history, or other paper with a legal connection, feel free to speak to a reference librarian and they can direct you to helpful legal resources. Although you may find many major American cases on the Internet, it is not as easy to find good legal analysis of those cases on the open Internet. A legal reference librarian can direct you to articles and books that provide an overview and analysis of the cases you are reading that give better insights and understanding of the law. Many of these articles are electronic and can be accessed on and off campus.

“Jaysearch”, the Creighton discovery system, searches several of these systems and includes legal database results within your searches. If you need assistance searching JaySearch, or if you need additional resources beyond what you have found in JaySearch - reach out to a reference librarian! They are more than happy to guide you to additional resources. You can reach a law reference librarian at lawref@lists.creighton.edu or call the reference desk at (402) 280-5541 from 10am to 4pm Monday through Friday.

You can search JaySearch at www.creighton.edu/jaysearch.
