We are happy to report that conservation work is now complete on the final portrait from the Creighton family. This painting is of Charles David Creighton, the son of Edward and Mary Lucretia (Wareham) Creighton. Charles was born in 1859 and passed away in 1863 at the age of 4. He is buried at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska with Edward and Mary Creighton. The painting and frame were sent to the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center here in Omaha where they were painstakingly repaired, cleaned, and restored. This work was funded by an anonymous donor and will be on display in the Reinert-Alumni Library Rare Books Room. You can learn more about the Creighton family from our collection available on the Creighton Digital Repository. Contact our archivist Pete Brink for appointments in the Rare Books Room or for research inquiries.
