To prepare for the project ahead, it is helpful to think through the steps in the process of conducting a review.

  1. Formulate research question
  2. Establish your team
  3. Contact your librarian​
  4. Write and register protocol​
  5. Define eligibility criteria
  6. Develop & implement search strategy
  7. Screen & analyze
  8. Create the Prisma flow diagram
  9. Critically appraise selected studies/ perform data extraction
  10. Synthesize results
  11. Write the manuscript
