OpenAthens is a service that provides Creighton University faculty, staff, and students access to the resources provided by Creighton University Libraries from anywhere. It provides internal authentication so that when logging in to access Creighton's holdings, it also ensures a secure connection.
OpenAthens allows you to....
Do you have databases or other research links bookmarked on your web browser? Make sure to update those links when logging in through OpenAthens.
In all other cases, to ensure proper use, make sure to change any permalinks that you might have bookmarked for optimal functionality.
See the video tutorials below for further information and directions on logging in to the library's services with your Office 365/Creighton University log in credentials.
You can login when prompted after using a link from a library page. If you are not already using Blueline / Office365, you will be prompted to login with your NetID@creighton.edu / password and then verify.
Some vendors have added links to OpenAthens on their site. If the libraries have paid for access, you will be able to login beginning at the vendor's site. Different vendors may use different links/logos or steps to get to OpenAthens.
Generate a link for a library resource that authenticates through OpenAthens. This will only work for library vendors that have been set up by library staff.
