Activity 1

Case: 52 y/o male recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus presents to outpatient physical therapy to begin an exercise program in addition to his medication and diet regime. He asks his physical therapist to write down his exercise program and future appointments because he has “memory problems.” He lives with his wife in an apartment. Would the Mini-Mental State Examination or the Montreal Cognitive Assessment be best to screen this patient for mild cognitive impairment?
