Library Assessment: Value of the Library

What the Research Says

The value of the university library would seem to be self-evident. The library provides essential resources, expertise, and common spaces to support the academic endeavor of students and faculty. But in challenging economic times, university leaders seek evidence to justify the allocation of limited funds. In response, there is a growing body of research that illustrates how much libraries contribute to student recruitment, retention, and academic achievement, as well as to faculty productivity.
