Library Budget and Database Usage: Three-Year Trend

The library budget has been flat in recent years, while the spend rate has risen due to inflation. University funds have covered the deficit. Meanwhile, database usage continues to increase.

In 2016 the Libraries cut $70,000 in e-journal subscriptions that are duplicated in third-party databases. Current issues may be embargoed, however, and publishers could decide to pull their journals.
